Weekends with Nan

Created by Jordan 2 years ago
I have so many great memories with my Nan. She was the kindest of people and we always made each other laugh but my fondest memory comes during my childhood when I would cycle up to Nan's house to see her. I loved spending time with her and she would always make sure I left with a full belly whether it was making me a meal from what she had in the fridge or treating me to a pub lunch at the Jolly Carter, a short walk from her house. Sometimes she made me work for my dinner asking me to do small tasks around the house to help out which I was more than happy to oblige. As I got older we talked about me getting a car and I promised I would take her out when I could drive. Years later on the first weekend of me owning my car I drove up to surprise her and took her for a ride as she loved riding as a passenger in the car, I thought she wouldn't remember that conversation we had years earlier but to my surprise she said to me "You always said you'd take me out in the car when you could drive". Rest in peace Nan. I'll never forget you.
